Tension towards Anything Arabic?

December 26, 2010

Is there a real online fear or a feel of uneasiness when relating to anything Arabic?

What do you think of the following part of a list of supported languages in a software?

I once was filling an online form when I reached the option to choose my country ‘United Arab Emirates’. It was below the United Kingdom. It sure angered me.

The Real “Israeli” Criminality

November 6, 2010

I am not sure about the original source for this list that I found on the Web, but I cannot deny they are factual:

  • Did you know that non-Jewish “Israelis” cannot buy or lease land in the Zionist entity?
  • Did you know that Palestinian license plates in Zionist entity are color coded to distinguish Jews from non-Jews?
  • Did you know that “Israel” allots 85% of the water resources for Jews and the remaining 15% is divided among all Palestinians in the territories? For example in Hebron, 85% of the water is given to about 400 settlers, while 15% must be divided among Hebron’s 120,000 Palestinians?
  • Did you know the United States awards “Israel” $5 billion in aid each year?
  • Did you know that yearly US aid to “Israel” exceeds the aid the US grants to the whole African continent?
  • Did you know that “Israel” is the only country in the Middle East that has nuclear weapons? Over 200. Pakistan had one, maybe it still does.
  • Did you know that “Israel” is the only country in the Middle East that refuses to sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and bars international inspections from its sites?
  • Did you know that “Israel” currently occupies territories of two sovereign nations (Lebanon and Syria) in defiance of United Nations Security Council resolutions?
  • Did you know that “Israel” has for decades routinely sent assassins into other countries to kill its political enemies?
  • Did you know that high-ranking military officers in the “Israeli” Defense Forces have admitted publicly that unarmed prisoners of war were executed by the IDF?
  • Did you know that “Israel” refuses to prosecute its soldiers who have acknowledged executing prisoners of war?
  • Did you know that “Israel” routinely confiscates bank accounts, businesses, and land and refuses to pay compensation to those who suffer the confiscation?
  • Did you know that “Israel” blew up an American diplomatic facility in Egypt and attacked a US ship in international waters, killing 33 and wounding 177 American sailors? The USS Liberty.
  • Did you know that the second most powerful lobby in the United States, according to a recent Fortune magazine survey of Washington insiders, is the Jewish AIPAC?
  • Did you know that “Israel” stands in defiance of 69 United Nations Security Council Resolutions?
  • Did you know that today’s “Israel” sits on the former sites of more than 400 now-vanished Palestinian villages, and that the “Israelis” renamed almost every physical site in the country to cover up the traces?
  • Did you know that it was not until 1988 that “Israelis” were barred from running “Jews Only” job ads?
  • Did you know that four prime ministers of “Israel” (Begin, Shamir, Rabin, and Sharon) have taken part in either bomb attacks on civilians, massacres of civilians, or forced expulsions of civilians from their villages?
  • Did you know that the “Israeli” Foreign Ministry pays two American public relations firms to promote “Israel” to Americans?
  • Did you know that Sharon’s coalition government includes a party —Molodet— which advocates expelling all Palestinians from the occupied territories?
  • Did you know that “Israel’s” settlement-building increased in the eight years since Oslo?
  • Did you know that settlement building under Barak doubled compared to settlement building under Netanyahu?
  • Did you know that “Israel” once dedicated a postage stamp to a man who attacked a civilian bus and killed several people?
  • Did you know that recently declassified documents indicate that David Ben-Gurion in at least some instances approved of the expulsion of Palestinians in 1948?
  • Did you know that despite a ban on torture by “Israel’s” High Court of Justice, torture has continued by Shin Bet interrogators on Palestinian prisoners?
  • Did you know that Palestinian refugees make up the largest portion of the refugee population in the world? As of June 30 2008 Total number of Refugees 4,618,141.
  • And finally do you know who is the terrorist now?

When People Lose Humanity for Fun

October 22, 2010

I do not know what the owners were thinking when they put pictures of people they see ugly for voting on their Website. Do not they know those are people with feelings? Have not come across their minds that maybe some of them would see the Webpage and would find their picture labeled as “ugly”?

Pictures of Ugly People whether Ugly Men or Ugly Women are for entertainment purposes only.

How low a human can be than this?

Study Islam Online at SunniPath Academy

August 23, 2010

Study Islam Online at SunniPath Academy

I was browsing the Internet and I came across SunniPath Website. It is an online academy for studying Islam and the Arabic language:

The Prophet Muhammad (God bless him and give him peace) said:

“Whenever God wishes well for someone, He gives them deep understanding of the religion” [Bukhari, 71; Muslim, 1037].

SunniPath is dedicated to the effective transmission of reliable and relevant religious knowledge.

Our knowledge is reliable because our teachers have been formally trained and authorized to transmit knowledge by leading scholars of the Muslim heartlands. They are meticulous in their conformity to the time-honored orthodoxy of Sunni Islam while sensitive to the circumstances of Muslims living in the modern world.

Our knowledge is relevant because we focus on conveying beneficial knowledge in a positive manner that inspires students and encourages practice. We do not engage in argumentation, nor are we interested in the academic approach of seeking knowledge for its own sake.

Our method of transmission is effective because we implement the principles of traditional Islamic education using the latest techniques of online learning to connect students all over the world with qualified teachers.

SunniPath

I believe many will find it good in learning about Islam.

Recommended Book – The Path of Muhammad: A Book on Islamic Morals & Ethics

July 28, 2010

I recommend reading The Path of Muhammad: A Book on Islamic Morals & Ethics by Imam Birgivi. I will add it to my Wish List for future buying.

Here is a quoted description from Amazon about the book:

This is a centuries-old text by a 16th-century Turkish Sufi and scholar, Imam Birgivi. It has been translated for the first time into English by Shaykh Tosun Bayrak, who has also “interpreted” the text. Through numerous references to the Quran and the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, the book portrays the beauty and depth of the Prophet’s character and the excellence of his example for followers of God in all times and places. The Path of Muhammad is accompanied by another, shorter text, The Last Will and Testament by Imam Birgivi. Together, these two texts range through traditional Islamic views on the nature of God, revelation, angels, prophethood, religious duties, virtue, faith, mysticism, the nature of knowledge, and many more topics. From lofty considerations on, for example, the nature of evil, to earth-bound considerations on, as another example, how to spend money, Imam Birgivi’s texts always show readers how they can purify their minds, hearts, and bodies. This incredible compendium of moral and spiritual topics, all seen through the eyes of a traditional Sufi and scholar, always hearkens back to the earliest sources of the Islamic faith (i.e., the Quran and the sayings of the Prophet) in order to “remind you of your own departure from this world, and help in your salvation.”

Somehow, It Smelled Like Mango

July 28, 2010

I was preparing my favorite easy lentil soup, and while I was frying chopped parsley and garlic in olive oil and after I added a pinch of salt (not in the recipe), I noticed the familiar smell of mango coming from the pan. Not sure if I smelled it before when I did not add the salt.

Very strange.

The Goodness of Mixed Berry Juice

July 23, 2010

So, it is summer, and I have suffered bladder infection. Not good.

I read somewhere before that berry juice can help prevent and cure bladder infections. Tammy Elizabeth Southin says:

According to research conducted at Rutgers University in New Jersey, blueberries can help you fight bladder infections (cystitis).

This type of infection can wreak havoc with your urination, by causing bladder pain, blood in your urine (in cases of severe infection), and giving you tremendous urges to urinate, only to find a tiny amount of urine comes out.

The researchers found that blueberries can effectively prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs) such as bladder and kidney infections.

This berry, like the cranberry, contains compounds called proanthocyanidins that keep E. coli (the bacteria responsible for most UTIs) from attaching to the cells in the walls of the urinary tract.

So, I bought some fresh mixed berry juice. After a day of drinking one cup, the inflammation began to lessen. Now, I am drinking another cup, just in case.

Thank you, berries.
